Applied Mechanical Design

This graduate certificate program is designed to enhance and build on the theoretical knowledge gained from studies in mechanical engineering and provides students with training in finite elements analysis, geometric tolerancing and computer aided design (CAD) with a focus on fast, inexpensive and quality design. Topics related to metrology, industrial communication, quality systems and design guidelines will be reviewed. Practical Elements of Mechanical

This program gives engineering students a one-year, intensive training in the practical elements associated with mechanical engineering to complement the theoretical skills that they presently obtain in their formal studies. In one short year, you’ll train in the practical elements associated with the profession of mechanical engineering, such as CAD, Blueprint Reading, and Machining and Welding. You’ll dig deep into CADD fundamentals, and SPC and Metrology, along with tool design, industrial pneumatics and PLCs. You’ll work in state-of-the-art labs with cutting-edge equipment, alongside your already well-established peers and potential colleagues. As well, you’ll learn more about project management, sharpening your leadership and administrative skills. All of this will enhance your already world-class set of engineering skills.

Electromechanical Engineering

The degree will provide you with a broad understanding of the design, development, manufacturing, and technical support of emerging electromechanical products, integrating, and improving both the product and the process. Electromechanical Engineering Technology program integrates mechanical, electrical and software technologies to design and manufacture products that are robust, socially responsible, and cost-effective. The ELM program emphasizes automation and control systems. In larger firms, the electromechanical engineer may be a member of the design or manufacturing team, while in smaller companies, this role may be assigned to a single individual. Millwright Mechanic Technician

Industrial Mechanics (Millwrights) work on industrial machinery and mechanical equipment and components. This equipment may include mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, fuel, lubrication, cooling, and exhaust systems. Some of the components they work on include pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, presses, generators, and pneumatic and hydraulic controls. Power engineering and energy system

Courses in the Power and Energy Systems area cover the analysis concepts and devices of electro mechanics, large electric power and energy systems, magnetic and electric energy conversion, and the application of electronic devices at high power levels. Wind Turbine Technician

The Wind Turbine Technician program will provide students with in depth knowledge and hands-on experience of the electrical and mechanical aspects as they relate to wind turbines. You will also learn fiberglass repair techniques as they relate to wind turbines. You will receive safety training for working at heights and in confined spaces. In order to complete this program, you must have no fear of heights and you must be physically fit.

Cad-cam drafting & tool making – CNC

This eight-month certificate program will introduce you to modern manufacturing techniques including programming and Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM).
